Report on FP7-funded e-Infrastructures Project Available
The FP7-funded project was launched in November 2012 and aimed to boost research, technological development and innovation in Africa.
Upon its completion in October 2014, the following highlights have been achieved:
- Development of the first ever e-Infrastructures applications portal for researchers dubbed the ‘Africa Grid Science Gateway’.
- Recommendations to policy-makers to speed up the development of impactful e-Infrastructures in Africa.
- Workshops to strengthen Africa-European Union cooperation in Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania and Rwanda.
- A new model for rural broadband deployment in Tanzania.
