The publication, titled ‘Science in Africa – Celebrating African Scientists Advancing the Continent and the World’ was launched during the DST’s Africa Day celebrations in May 2017. “The book celebrates excellent work being done by researchers on the Continent in the areas of poverty, unemployment and inequality, and encourages more potential scientists to embark on the journey of science in Africa,” says an announcement published on the DST’s website.

The announcement further adds that the book “acknowledges the excellent research done by women scientists who are increasingly taking their place in a once male-dominated domain”.
