A call for expressions of interest is out for the individuals to organised a session at the upcoming stakeholder meeting, focusing on the EU-Africa research and innovation (R&I) partnership, especially those aligned to the following themes:

  • Implementation for the EU-Africa R&I partnership on food and nutrition security;
  • Implementation for the forthcoming EU-Africa R&I partnership on climate change and sustainable energy; and,
  • Synergies between policies of cooperation, i.e. in human capital development, research fairness and open science and their added value in the aforementioned priority areas.

According to an alert posted on the RINEA website, the aim of the stakeholder meeting is "to facilitate inclusive participation, cooperation and integration among all interested parties from Europe and Africa - from the public sector, private sector, foundations, funding agencies, research-performing organisations, academia and NGOs - to discuss interactively on the topics described above and advance the Research and Innovation Partnerships together."

The stakeholder meeting will take place after the gathering of the EU-Africa HLPD on Science, Technology and Innovation from 17-18 October 2017 in Brussels.

Interested individuals are encouraged to express their interest by sending an email to RTD-EU-AFRICA-HLPD-BUREAU[at]ec.europa.eu before 4 August 2017.
