CAAST-Net Plus partner, the Foundation for Science and Technology of Portugal (FCT), participated in the event by presenting information on the role of National Contact Points within Horizon 2020, as well as on the potential for African participation in the programme.

In an article published by AllAfrica.com, Angola’s science and technology minister, Maria Candida Teixeira, is reported to have highlighted existing political frameworks for cooperation between Angola and the European Union. These include the 2008-2013 National Indicative Programme and the Joint Way Forward, the article reports.

Teixeira is also reported to have encouraged Angolan researchers to seek opportunities to collaborate with European counterparts.
