Jointly hosted by the African Union and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, this year’s eLearning Africa event took place from 20-22 May in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Close to 1,400 delegates from 68 countries attended the event, themed “Enriching Tomorrow”.

Associate academic officer at the United Nations University, Dr Erick Tambo, a conference speaker and session chair at this year’s event, says eLearning Africa’s convening power is its strength.

“The eLearning 2015 Africa was particularly interesting because of the multiple sessions bringing together policy makers and practitioners,” Tambo says.

“The several sessions dealing on educational technologies in context of health, vocational teaching, agriculture, entrepreneurship, technology and innovation hub, evidence based research, mobile learning, open educational resources provide participants opportunity to discuss on state of art of methods, process and tools, networking and sharing of experience and practices.”
