Two new opportunities for EU-Africa research cooperation on health

The European Commission has published its Work Programme for Health 2018-2020, containing two new opportunities for EU-Africa research cooperation on health.

The two chosen research areas are: implementation research for maternal and child health, and new anti-infective agents for prevention and/or treatment of neglected infectious diseases (NID).

Projects in the research area ‘New anti-infective agents for prevention and/or treatment of neglected infectious diseases (NID)’ will have a commitment of 5-10 million Euro per project in EU contributions. The First Stage deadline for proposals is the 6 February 2018, with the second stage deadline on 4 September 2018.

Projects in the research area ‘Implementation research for maternal and child health’ will have a commitment of 2-4 million Euro per project in EU contributions. The First Stage deadline for proposals is the 2 October 2018, with the second stage deadline on 16 April 2019.
