Opportunity: Germany-Africa Research Collaboration

http://l.caast-net-plus.org/dB

The German Research Foundation has announced a call for proposals for African and German researchers working on infectious diseases and their effects on society. “The DFG primarily wants to encourage researchers in human and veterinary medicine as well as in related humanities fields to request funding for the investigation of neglected diseases,” the call states. “Projects on AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis research, which are already heavily funded by international programmes will only constitute a minor proportion of the funded projects and can only be considered if neglected issues of these diseases are addressed.” The programme includes scope for building research capacity and strengthening research networks. Researchers have until 15 December 2015 to submit their proposals. [Image credit: Flickr, NIAID]
