CODESRIA Launches Diaspora Call

http://l.caast-net-plus.org/8V

The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) has launched a new funding call aimed at establishing research networks between Africa-based and diaspora researchers. The scheme will bring diaspora researchers based anywhere in the world back to Africa for stints ranging between 15 days and three months. A range of research topics is suggested by CODESRIA including boosting collaboration by the diaspora with African higher education systems, increasing PhD output, the environment, biotechnology, and food security. The organisers say a strong focus will be placed on multi-disciplinary approaches and diverse research teams. Research partnerships must link up to Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda or South Africa in order to be eligible. Applications close on 15 March. [Image credit: Flickr/Jodi Green]
